About Michael Jewellery

Exceptional Craftsmanship. Personal Service. Jewellery Made for You.

For 11 years, Michael Jewellery has connected clients with exceptional, handcrafted jewellery, bringing together individual design, master craftsmanship and outstanding value.

We believe fine jewellery should be more than a beautiful object. It should reflect your personality, celebrate your milestones and be something you treasure for a lifetime.

Whether you are looking for a timeless engagement ring, a bespoke gold necklace, a platinum piece or a unique design featuring natural or lab-grown diamonds and gemstones, we work with you to bring your vision to life.

The Art of Jewellery Making

Michael Jewellery operates differently from traditional jewellery retailers. We do not maintain an expensive retail store. Instead, we work directly with highly experienced independent jewellers whose jewellery-making expertise spans more than 30 years.

Our artisans have crafted jewellery for leading diamond brands in South Africa and internationally, with pieces that have appeared in prestigious auction houses, including Sotheby’s.

Their experience, skill and attention to detail allow us to offer the quality of workmanship associated with established luxury jewellery houses, combined with the personal attention of a dedicated jeweller.

Every piece is approached with care, precision and respect for the craft.

Luxury Without Unnecessary Markups

We believe exceptional jewellery should offer genuine value.

By keeping our operating costs lean and working closely with our jewellers, we can focus your investment on what matters most: the quality of the precious metals, the diamonds and gemstones, the design and the craftsmanship.

We offer beautiful jewellery in genuine 9K, 18K and 22K gold, as well as platinum. Our diamond and gemstone options include natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds and a variety of precious and coloured gemstones.

Our approach allows us to offer competitive pricing and attractive savings without compromising on the quality of the finished piece.

You are not simply buying a name or paying for an expensive showroom. You are investing in the jewellery itself.

Your Vision. Your Budget. Your Jewellery.

No two clients are alike, and we believe their jewellery should not be either.

We take the time to understand what you want, what you love and what you are comfortable spending. Whether you have a clear design in mind, have found inspiration in our catalogue or need help imagining something entirely new, we work with you to find the right solution.

Our collection includes both catalogue designs and bespoke creations, giving you the freedom to choose an existing design or develop something personal.

We do not believe you should have to stretch beyond your means to own beautiful jewellery. Nor should you have to settle for a design that does not reflect your taste simply because it falls outside conventional industry offerings.

We are creative, flexible and solution-driven. If you have a vision, we will explore the possibilities and find a way to bring it within reach.

More Than a Jewellery Purchase

At Michael Jewellery, the relationship comes before the sale.

We are here to guide you through your options, explain the choices available and help you make an informed decision. From selecting a diamond or gemstone to refining a design and choosing the right precious metal, we approach every project with your individual needs in mind.

Our goal is simple: to create or source jewellery you will love, at a price that makes sense for you, with craftsmanship you can appreciate for years to come.

Michael Jewellery

Last updated: 23 October 2026

1. Introduction

At Michael Jewellery, every order receives individual attention. Whether you purchase a catalogue design or commission a bespoke piece, we take care to ensure your jewellery is prepared, packaged and delivered securely.

We work with experienced independent jewellers to create beautiful handcrafted jewellery in gold, platinum and precious gemstones. As we do not operate a traditional retail store, our shipping arrangements are designed to accommodate both ready-made and individually commissioned pieces.

This policy explains how we process, ship and deliver orders placed with Michael Jewellery.

2. Order Processing and Preparation

Once your order has been confirmed and payment has been received, we will begin preparing your jewellery for dispatch.

Ready-made jewellery

Available, ready-made items are generally prepared for dispatch within 2–5 business days after payment confirmation.

Made-to-order jewellery

Items requiring manufacturing, resizing, stone setting or additional finishing will need extra preparation time. We will confirm the estimated completion and dispatch date when your order is placed.

Bespoke and custom-designed jewellery

Custom jewellery is created according to the design, materials and specifications agreed with you. Production and delivery timelines depend on the complexity of the design, the availability of diamonds and gemstones, and the manufacturing process.

Your estimated completion and delivery timeframe will be agreed with you individually before production begins.

Business days exclude weekends and South African public holidays.

3. Shipping Within South Africa

Michael Jewellery offers courier delivery to addresses within South Africa.

Shipping costs are payable by the customer. The applicable delivery charge will be communicated before the order is finalised.

Our domestic shipping arrangements are as follows:

  • Dispatch time: Ready-made items are generally dispatched within 2–5 business days after payment confirmation.

  • Delivery timeframe: Estimated at 2–5 business days after dispatch, depending on the destination and courier service.

  • Shipping fees: Confirmed before the order is finalised. Fees may vary according to destination, parcel value and courier service.

  • Tracking: Tracking details will be provided where available.

  • High-value items: Tracked and insured courier services will be used for high-value shipments, subject to the applicable courier's coverage, terms and conditions.

Delivery timeframes are estimates and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur because of courier operations, public holidays, adverse weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

4. International Shipping

Michael Jewellery accepts international shipping enquiries and will provide a shipping quotation for each order individually.

International shipping costs and arrangements depend on the destination country, the value and nature of the jewellery, the courier service available and applicable customs requirements.

Before dispatch, we will confirm the following with you:

  • The applicable shipping cost.

  • The available shipping and tracking arrangements.

  • The estimated delivery timeframe.

  • Any relevant documentation or customs requirements known to us.

International customers are responsible for any applicable import duties, customs clearance fees, taxes and other destination-country charges unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Customs inspections, clearance procedures and local delivery arrangements may affect delivery times.

International shipments are subject to courier restrictions, destination-country regulations and any applicable export and import requirements. We will confirm whether delivery can be arranged to your destination before accepting the order.

5. Secure Packaging and Insured Delivery

We understand that fine jewellery is valuable, both financially and personally.

We take reasonable care to package orders appropriately for transit and to reduce the risk of damage during delivery.

For high-value shipments, we use tracked and insured courier services, subject to the availability of suitable cover and the courier's applicable terms, conditions and exclusions.

Where relevant, insurance limits, coverage and shipping arrangements will be confirmed before dispatch.

Delivery may require a signature from the recipient or an authorised person. The courier may also request identification or other verification.

Upon receipt, please inspect the external packaging. If the parcel appears damaged, opened or tampered with, notify the courier where possible and contact Michael Jewellery promptly.

6. Delivery Address and Failed Deliveries

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address, contact number and any other information required to complete delivery.

If delivery cannot be completed because the address is incorrect, no authorised recipient is available or the courier cannot access the delivery location, additional arrangements may be required.

If a parcel is returned to Michael Jewellery, we will contact you to arrange redelivery. Any additional shipping charges will be communicated before redelivery is arranged.

Please contact us promptly if your delivery details change before dispatch. Once an order has been handed to the courier, changes may not be possible or may incur additional charges.

7. Delayed, Lost or Damaged Shipments

If your delivery is delayed, please contact us with your order number so that we can assist with tracking the shipment and following up with the courier.

If a shipment appears to be lost, Michael Jewellery will work with the courier to investigate and, where applicable, initiate the relevant claims process.

If your jewellery arrives damaged or you receive an incorrect item, please notify us as soon as possible. Include your order number and, where practical, photographs of the parcel and the item received.

We will assess the issue and advise you on the appropriate next steps in accordance with our policies, the courier's applicable procedures and your rights under applicable law.

Nothing in this policy excludes any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Bespoke and Made-to-Order Delivery

Every bespoke jewellery commission is unique. Delivery timelines are therefore agreed individually with each customer.

The estimated timeframe will take into account the approved design, sourcing of materials, manufacturing, stone setting, finishing and shipping arrangements.

Changes requested after the design has been approved, delays in sourcing specific diamonds or gemstones, or unforeseen production requirements may affect the agreed completion date. We will communicate any material changes to the expected timeframe.

Where applicable, production will proceed according to the payment terms and design approval arrangements agreed with you.

9. Returns, Exchanges and Refunds

If you receive an incorrect, damaged or defective item, please contact Michael Jewellery promptly so that we can assist.

For information about return eligibility, exchanges, refunds and the return process, please refer to our Returns and Refund Policy: [Insert link to Returns and Refund Policy].

Custom-made or personalised jewellery may be subject to different return conditions, subject to applicable consumer protection laws. Any such conditions will be communicated where relevant.

Nothing in this shipping policy limits or excludes rights you may have under applicable law.

Refund Policy

Returns, Refunds and Exchanges Policy

Michael Jewellery

Last updated: 23 October 2026

1. Our Commitment to You

At Michael Jewellery, we believe every customer deserves personal service, quality craftsmanship and confidence in their purchase.

Our jewellery is created and sourced with care, using precious metals, natural and lab-grown diamonds, and gemstones. Whether you purchase a catalogue design or commission a bespoke piece, we want you to be happy with your jewellery.

This policy explains how we handle returns, exchanges, repairs and refunds.

All returns and refund requests are subject to the terms below and applicable South African consumer protection laws.

2. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

If your jewellery arrives damaged, defective or materially different from the description or specifications agreed upon, please contact us as soon as possible.

To help us resolve the matter, please provide:

  • Your order number and proof of purchase.

  • A description of the problem.

  • Photographs of the jewellery and packaging, where practical.

We will assess the issue and discuss the appropriate resolution with you.

Where the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law entitles you to a repair, replacement or refund, we will honour your legal rights. The appropriate remedy will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

Please contact us before arranging to return an item so that we can provide the correct return instructions.

3. Change-of-Mind Returns

We understand that customers may sometimes reconsider a purchase.

For eligible, ready-made catalogue jewellery, you may request a return within 7 calendar days of delivery, provided the item is unworn, undamaged, unaltered and returned in its original packaging, with any certificates and accompanying documentation supplied with the order.

The item must be returned in a condition suitable for inspection and resale.

A change-of-mind return is subject to our inspection and confirmation that the eligibility requirements have been met. If approved, the refund will be processed using the original payment method, subject to any applicable legal requirements.

Unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning an eligible change-of-mind purchase.

Important: This voluntary return policy does not limit any statutory cancellation, return or refund rights that may apply to your purchase.

4. Bespoke and Custom-Made Jewellery

Michael Jewellery offers personalised jewellery services, allowing customers to work with our jewellers to create pieces according to their individual preferences and specifications.

Bespoke jewellery may involve sourcing specific diamonds or gemstones, selecting precious metals, approving designs, manufacturing and specialist finishing.

Because these pieces are created specifically for an individual customer, change-of-mind returns may not be accepted for bespoke, personalised or custom-manufactured jewellery, except where required by applicable law or agreed in writing.

Before production begins, we encourage customers to review and confirm:

  • The approved design and dimensions.

  • The type and quantity of precious metals.

  • Diamond or gemstone specifications and any applicable certificates.

  • The agreed price and payment terms.

  • Any estimated production and delivery dates.

If a bespoke piece is defective, does not conform to the agreed specifications or otherwise qualifies for a remedy under applicable law, this policy does not remove your legal rights.

5. Diamonds, Gemstones and Certificates

Diamonds and gemstones can vary naturally in colour, clarity, inclusions and appearance. These characteristics will be considered in accordance with the product description, agreed specifications and any applicable grading or certification documentation.

For jewellery purchased with a diamond or gemstone certificate, please return the certificate and all accompanying documentation if the item is being returned.

Any return will be assessed against the original order details and agreed specifications.

A natural variation is not automatically a defect. However, this does not affect your rights if a stone or product is misrepresented, materially different from what was agreed or otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements.

6. Items That Have Been Worn, Altered or Resized

For change-of-mind returns, jewellery must be unworn, unaltered and in its original condition.

Items that have been resized, engraved, altered, repaired by a third party or otherwise modified after delivery may not qualify for a voluntary change-of-mind return.

This restriction does not remove any legal remedies that may apply to defective or non-conforming products.

If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing defect, please contact us before arranging repairs or alterations elsewhere.

7. How to Request a Return

To request a return, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Contact us

Email [Insert business email address] or WhatsApp [Insert contact number] with your order number and the reason for the return.

Step 2: Receive return instructions

We will explain the return process, the appropriate delivery arrangements and any information needed to assess your request.

Step 3: Package the jewellery securely

Include the jewellery, original packaging, certificates and any other documentation supplied with your order, where applicable.

Please use an appropriate tracked courier service and retain proof of shipment. For high-value jewellery, use suitable insurance for the full shipment value.

Step 4: Inspection and outcome

Once the item is received, we will inspect it and notify you of the outcome. We may request additional information if needed to assess the issue.

Please do not send jewellery to an address until we have confirmed the correct return arrangements.

8. Refund Processing

Once a refund has been approved, it will generally be processed using the original payment method.

We aim to initiate approved refunds within 5–10 business days, subject to the nature of the claim and any applicable legal deadlines. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to reflect the refund.

Where a refund is due under applicable law, the relevant statutory requirements and deadlines will take precedence over this estimated processing timeframe.

Any applicable delivery charges, return costs or other amounts will be handled in accordance with the law and the circumstances of the return.

9. Cancellations Before Dispatch

If you wish to cancel an order before it has been dispatched, please contact us as soon as possible.

For ready-made items that have not been dispatched, we will review the request in accordance with the order terms and applicable law.

For bespoke or made-to-order items, cancellation may be affected by whether production has begun, whether materials have been specially sourced and what work has already been completed.

Any applicable cancellation charges or deductions must be lawful and appropriately disclosed. Nothing in this section excludes statutory cancellation rights, including any rights that may apply to electronic transactions.

10. Online Purchases and Statutory Rights

Certain purchases made through electronic transactions may be subject to additional cancellation rights under South African law, including the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), where applicable.

The availability of these rights depends on the transaction and any relevant statutory exceptions.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or waived.

Cancellation / Return / Exchange Policy

Cancellations, Returns and Exchanges Policy

Michael Jewellery

Last updated: 23 October 2026

1. Our Commitment to You

At Michael Jewellery, we want every customer to feel confident when purchasing or commissioning a piece of jewellery.

We understand that fine jewellery is a personal investment. Whether you select a design from our catalogue or work with us to create something unique, we aim to provide clear communication, quality craftsmanship and personal service throughout the process.

This policy explains how cancellations, returns and exchanges are handled.

All provisions are subject to applicable South African consumer protection laws. Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

2. Order Cancellations

Ready-Made Jewellery

If you wish to cancel an order for ready-made jewellery, please contact us as soon as possible using the contact details at the end of this policy.

If the order has not yet been dispatched, we will review your cancellation request and advise you of the available options.

If payment has already been received and the cancellation is approved, any refund due will be processed in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

If your order has already been dispatched, the cancellation may need to be handled as a return, subject to the applicable return conditions and your statutory rights.

Made-to-Order Jewellery

For jewellery manufactured after an order is placed, cancellation may depend on whether production has started, whether materials have been sourced and whether work has already been completed.

Please contact us immediately if you wish to cancel.

We will assess the stage of production and explain any applicable consequences. Any charges or deductions must be lawful and consistent with the agreed terms and applicable consumer protection requirements.

Bespoke and Custom-Designed Jewellery

Bespoke jewellery is designed and created according to individual customer requirements. This may include custom designs, specific diamond or gemstone selections, personalised engravings, particular metal choices or special dimensions.

Once a bespoke design has been approved and production or special sourcing has begun, cancellation may be limited, subject to applicable law and the terms agreed with the customer.

Before production begins, we encourage customers to carefully review and approve all design details, materials, stone specifications, pricing and estimated production timelines.

Where cancellation is permitted, we will explain the applicable process and any lawful charges before finalising the cancellation.

3. Returns for Change of Mind

We understand that a customer may reconsider a purchase after receiving their jewellery.

For eligible, ready-made catalogue jewellery, Michael Jewellery offers a voluntary change-of-mind return period of 7 calendar days from delivery, subject to the conditions below.

To qualify for a voluntary change-of-mind return, the item must:

  • Be unworn and in its original condition.

  • Be free from damage, alterations or signs of use.

  • Include the original packaging, certificates and accompanying documentation supplied with the order.

  • Be returned using the return arrangements confirmed by Michael Jewellery.

All returned items are subject to inspection.

If the item meets the applicable return conditions and the return is approved, the customer may be eligible for a refund or exchange in accordance with the arrangements agreed and applicable law.

Unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning an eligible change-of-mind purchase.

This voluntary return policy does not replace or restrict any statutory cancellation or return rights that may apply to the transaction.

4. Returns of Bespoke and Personalised Jewellery

Bespoke jewellery is made specifically for an individual customer and may involve custom manufacturing, specialist craftsmanship and the sourcing of particular diamonds or gemstones.

For this reason, change-of-mind returns are generally not accepted for bespoke, personalised or custom-manufactured pieces, except where required by law or agreed in writing.

This includes jewellery that has been manufactured to approved specifications or personalised through engraving, resizing or other agreed modifications.

However, if a bespoke item is defective, materially different from the agreed specifications or otherwise qualifies for a remedy under applicable law, the customer retains any applicable legal rights.

We encourage customers to ask questions and confirm their requirements before approving a bespoke design.

5. Defective, Damaged or Incorrect Jewellery

If your jewellery arrives damaged, contains a manufacturing defect or is materially different from the agreed description or specifications, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please provide:

  • Your order number and proof of purchase.

  • A description of the problem.

  • Photographs of the jewellery and packaging, where practical.

We will assess the issue and explain the appropriate next steps.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the available remedy may include repair, replacement or refund.

Where the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation gives you the right to choose or receive a particular remedy, we will respect those rights.

Please contact us before arranging repairs or alterations with another jeweller, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent further damage.

6. Exchanges

Customers wishing to exchange eligible ready-made jewellery should contact Michael Jewellery within 7 calendar days of delivery.

Exchanges are subject to:

  • The item meeting the applicable return conditions.

  • Availability of the requested replacement item.

  • Confirmation of any difference in price.

  • Agreement on any additional delivery charges.

If the replacement item costs more than the original purchase, the customer will be responsible for the difference unless otherwise agreed.

If the replacement item costs less, any applicable refund or credit will be handled in accordance with the agreed exchange arrangement and applicable law.

Bespoke, personalised or custom-manufactured jewellery is generally not eligible for a change-of-mind exchange, subject to applicable statutory rights.

7. Diamonds, Gemstones and Precious Metals

Our jewellery may feature natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, coloured gemstones, gold and platinum.

Natural gemstones may vary in colour, clarity, inclusions and other characteristics. Such variations will be assessed against the product description, agreed specifications and any applicable grading or certification documentation.

For returns involving certified diamonds or gemstones, please include the certificates and other documentation supplied with the order.

A natural variation is not automatically a defect. However, this does not affect your rights if a product has been misrepresented, materially differs from what was agreed or otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements.

8. Resized, Engraved or Altered Jewellery

Jewellery that has been resized, engraved, altered or modified after delivery may not qualify for a voluntary change-of-mind return.

This restriction does not apply where a return, repair, replacement or refund is required under applicable law.

If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing defect, please contact us before arranging third-party repairs or modifications.

9. How to Request a Cancellation, Return or Exchange

Step 1: Contact us

Email [Insert business email address] or WhatsApp [Insert contact number]. Include your order number and explain whether you are requesting a cancellation, return or exchange.

Step 2: Receive confirmation

We will review your request and provide instructions, including the appropriate return address and delivery arrangements where relevant.

Step 3: Package the jewellery securely

Include the jewellery, original packaging, certificates and accompanying documentation, where applicable.

For high-value items, use a suitable tracked courier service with insurance appropriate to the full shipment value. Retain your proof of dispatch.

Please do not send jewellery to an address until the return arrangements have been confirmed.

Step 4: Inspection and resolution

Once the returned item has been received, we will inspect it and communicate the outcome and next steps.

Any applicable statutory deadlines and remedies take precedence over the administrative process described in this section.

10. Refunds

Where a refund is approved, it will generally be processed using the original payment method, subject to applicable law and payment-provider requirements.

Michael Jewellery aims to initiate approved refunds within 5–10 business days after the return has been assessed and approved. Banks and payment providers may require additional time to reflect the amount in the customer's account.

Where a refund is legally required, the applicable statutory deadlines and conditions take precedence.

Any delivery charges, return costs or deductions will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.

11. Online Purchases and Statutory Cancellation Rights

Certain online purchases may qualify for cancellation rights under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), including a cooling-off period for qualifying electronic transactions.

These rights are subject to statutory conditions and exceptions. Some goods made to a consumer's specifications or clearly personalised may be treated differently.

Other consumer protections may apply under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or waived.
